Eugene Neighborhoods

Diverse neighborhood full of character and community! Alternative area to University/Fairmount offering a gorgeous setting with plenty of views. Leave your car at home and enjoy all the conveniences close by.

Eclectic and laid-back! Fast-emerging area anchored by breweries, restaurants and nightlife. If you like to live off the beaten path, then "The Whit" is the place for you. River trails and parks with great walk/bike scores.

Looking for new construction? Gilham has plenty of options. This neighborhood is located in North Eugene and has been recently expanding with new single-family developments and luxury apartments. Centrally located for ease of access to highways, shopping, and popular restaurants.

Follow River Road directly to Santa Clara. Santa Clara is a mix of residential homes within Eugene and established rural, "small farm" properties just beyond city limits. Several popular farms are only minutes away for direct access to farm fresh produce and country views.

Hayden Bridge is in the North area of Springfield loosely bordering the McKenzie River with close proximity to Gateway shopping center and I-5 access. This is an established area with a mix of mid-century ranch style homes and some "newer" developments built in the 90's - early 2000's. Quieter "tucked away" feel with amenities in easy reach.

Live amongst the trees! Whether it's a mid century-era home or state-of-the-art new construction, you will find plenty of options here. Natural beauty and views can be found in these areas, plus numerous trailheads.

Small scale living! Vintage bungalows to penthouse condos, this area has a mixture of housing options and is conveniently close to downtown activities and services. Work/live/play all in one convenient location.

River Road is one of Eugene's main roads that connects to many areas - Santa Clara, Beltline Hwy, NW Expressway, West Eugene & more. This area is a mixture of styles with vintage and small farm charm. Easy bus line access and plenty of parks/recreation.

Springfield Neighborhoods

Springfield is a smaller, less busy town just East of Eugene loosely bounded between the Willamette and McKenzie Rivers. Springfield borders Eugene but has that small town feel with nearly 60% smaller population. Enjoy a quieter pace and all the perks of Eugene within minutes.

In recent years, Downtown Springfield has undergone an impressive transformation. Main Street has blossomed into a lively community welcoming new restaurants, bars & distilleries, and small shops. Close proximity to surrounding residential neighborhoods, bus station, and Willamette River.

The Washburne Historic district is a small area in Springfield just past Main St with approximately 29 blocks of historic homes built between 1890's-1940's. This area was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. Intriguing architecture and history close to coffee shops, restaurants, and parks.

Thurston is the most eastern part of Springfield. This neighborhood is tucked away a few miles from busier city attractions offering a quieter energy with it's own "small-town" feel. Newer developments have popped up in approx. the last 15 years overlooking scenic valley/mountain views. Convenient area with highway access and close proximity to rivers, hiking, lake.

Surrounding Small Towns

Coburg is 8 miles north of Eugene with a traditional small town feel and population of less than 1,500 residents! There are many fun antique shops, several small restaurants, and close ties to surrounding farms. Camping, historic architecture, outdoor recreation and farmstands in easy reach.

Creswell is approximately 12.5 miles from Eugene, a halfway point between Eugene and Cottage Grove. This town has a population just under 5,500 residents and offers several newer single-family developments, a small golf course, and small airport for plane hobbyists. Vineyards in close proximity and only a short drive to Eugene/Springfield or Cottage Grove for your larger city needs.

Pleasant Hill is just a little over 3.5 miles off of I-5 and has a population of under 5,700 residents. Classic countryside charm with small-town amenities and sweeping open pasture and mountain views. You will pass through this small town on the way to Dexter Lake, Lowell, Oakridge, and more. This area is a great option if you're looking for close-in acreage.

If you head East on 126 towards the coast, the first town you will pass through is Veneta, approx. 14.5 miles from Eugene. This town has easy connectivity to several beautiful wineries in the Willamette Valley and is home to the Oregon Country Fair and Fern Ridge Reservoir for boating and outdoor water recreation.

Cottage Grove is approximately 22.5 miles south of Eugene just off of I-5. Smaller than Eugene and Springfield with an easy commute to both. A great resource for outdoor recreation. Home to Cottage Grove Lake and Dorena Lake, numerous campgrounds and parks, historic Covered Bridges, and an impressive paved bike route perfect for bicycle enthusiasts.

Drive a few miles North on Hwy 99 directly to Junction City, located between Eugene and Corvallis. This semi-rural town offers a mix of charming farmhouses, newer developments, and larger homesteads. Several beautiful wineries are a short commute from town and Eugene airport is only minutes away. Junction City is well known for its annual Scandinavian Festival.
